THE SOUTH VALLEY TOUR

Description

This route is located south of the city of Cusco which is why it’s so special.
It is a valley of breathtaking landscapes and memorable archeological centers that exhibits customs and traditions that are unique to villages that you will come to visit.
The departures for this tour are daily at 08:40 and 15:00 hrs.

The following places of visit include:

1.- THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF TIPON.

The archaeological site located in this valley is incredibly spectacular because it offers visitors a great cultural and scenic experience. Tipon is one of the royal enclosures and gardens that was commanded to be built for Wiracocha. It has a hydraulic system for extraordinary and precise irrigation purposes as well as 12 spacious terraces that served agriculture.
It was a philosophical palace and also a temple of water worship.

2.- THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF PIKILLACTA.

The most famous and best-preserved pre-Inca city of the ancient cities that existed in Peru is Pikillacta.
From the Wari culture, it is characterized by its spectacular constructions. These people were great urbanists and are known for their perfect avenues and streets.

3.- THE SISTINE TEMPLE OF ANDAHUAYLILLAS.

Our final stop will be at one of the most ancient temples still standing which is also called “the Sistine Chapel of America”. Visitors are greeted in the cozy and serene main square, but inside, we will find beautiful and magnificent mural paintings, richly decorated baroque-style canvases, and altars in gold leaf.
Once we have finished visiting the beautiful Sistine, we will return to the city of Cusco.
