Summary Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Day 1: Cusco – Km. 104 – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas Calientes:
At around 04:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel to go from Cusco – Ollantaytambo by bus. Then, we will head to the train station to take the train to Km 104 where the short Inca trail begins. We will visit Chachabamba (2,250 masl) at Km 104. The hike continues with a visit to Wiñayhuayna (Always Young) which is said to be the old house of the ancient priests of Machupicchu.
Amongst the landscape is a fantastic view of the Urubamba River. Continuing with the tour, we get the first view of the historic sanctuary of Machupicchu (we do not visit-just pass through the control), and finally, we go down to the village of Aguas Calientes to the accommodation of the passengers’ choice.
Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco:
We will take the first bus that departs from the village of Machupicchu at 05:30 am so you can be the first ones to the sanctuary of Machupicchu. We will have a guided visit to the main places of Machu Picchu which lasts for approx. 2 hours. This is followed by free time for you to explore on your own and to take pictures. We will then take the bus down to Aguas Calientes where you will have time to eat lunch, and in the afternoon, we take the return train at a time depending on the departure schedule.
Finally, we board our bus which will be waiting for the bus at the station. We will be back to Cusco by nightfall.

DAY 1: (CUSCO / KM 104 / WIÑAYHUAYNA / MACHUPICCHU)

- 06:40 hrs. Train departure from Poroy Station.
- Travel by train Perurail from Poroy to Aguas Calientes Machupicchu.
